Sarah Chalke and Kim Raver are the latest actresses to lead new shows during pilot season.
Chalke (SCRUBS) has been cast in a FOX family comedy pilot opposite Rob Riggle, called 48 HOURS 'TIL MONDAY. She will play Riggle's wife, Kelly Bishop, a mother of three, who struggles to find her identity as a stay-at-home hom after a career as a TV new producer. Riggle plays Charlie, who is bent on having a good time on weekends. Jane Curtin has also landed a role in the show, as Kelly's mother, Louise, a chain smoker who keeps company with Candace (Merrin Dungey), her sometimes friend. From Universal Television, Charlie Grandy (THE MINDY PROJECT) penned the episode, and Peter Traugott and Rachel Kaplan serve as executive producers.
ABC has cast Raver (24, GREY'S ANATOMY) in a new drama pilot, THE ADVOCATE, as a hardball business woman, Francis "Frankie" Reese. Frankie has to abandon her prolific career following a life-threatening misdiagnosis, in order to advocate for those in similar situations. Inspired by a true story, THE ADVOCATE is written by Sheldon Turner and directed by Michael M. Robin.
