BEATRIZ AT DINNER, the Bron Studios and Killer Films production staring Salma Hayek and John Lithgow, has begun production in Los Angeles, with Miguel Arteta directing from a screenplay by Mike White.
Bron Studios Aaron L. Gilbert produces with Killer Films' David Hinojosa, Pam Koffler and Christine Vachon. The film is being produced in association with Creative Wealth Media Finance. Jason Cloth, Richard McConnell and Lewis Hendler are executive producers.
Beatriz, an immigrant from a poor town in Mexico, has drawn on her innate kindness to build a career as a health practitioner in Southern California. Don Strutt is a real estate developer whose cutthroat tactics have made him a self-made, self-satisfied billionaire. When these two polar opposites meet at a dinner party, their worlds collide and neither will ever be the same.
Hayek's credits include Bron's upcoming film "Drunk Parents", "Frida" and "Puss in Boots". Lithgow will next be seen starring as Sir Winston Churchill in the
Netflix series "The Crown." His upcoming films include "Miss Sloane" opposite Jessica Chastain and the crime drama "The Accountant" alongside Ben Affleck for Warner Bros.
Also starring in "Beatriz at Dinner": Chloe Sevigny ("American Psycho", "Boys Don't Cry", "Zodiac"), Jay Duplass ("Togetherness", "The Mindy Project", "Transparent"), Connie Britton ("Nashville", "American Horror Story", "Friday Night Lights"), and Nina Arianda ("Midnight in Paris," "Tower Heist," "Hannibal").
Gilbert's credits include "The Birth of a Nation", "Special Correspondents" and "Welcome to Me". Koffler and Vachon's Killer Films' credits include "Carol", "Still Alice" and "Boys Don't Cry". Arteta previously directed "Youth in Revolt", "The Good Girl" and "Cedar Rapids". White's past screenplays include "School of Rock", "Nacho Libre" and "The Good Girl".
