Lower lip scar from being bitten by a dog as a child. Hosted a concert in Central Park, "Sheryl Crow and Friends" with guests including Keith Richards, Eric Clapton, Sarah McLachlan, Dixie Chicks, and Chrissie Hynde. [1999] She was awarded an Honorary doctorate from the Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Originally sang back-up for Michael Jackson and Don Henley. Her album "C'mon, C'mon" was supposedly composed in the wake of a break-up with Owen Wilson. The song "Safe and Sound" is dedicated to him in the liner notes. Graduated from the University of Missouri with a degree in music. Was a member of Sigma Alpha Iota, a women's music fraternity. Suffers from Sleep Paralysis. Worked as an elementary school music teacher at Garlin Kellison in Fenton, Missouri. Ranked #44 on VH1's 100 Greatest Women of Rock N Roll. Recorded an album in 1990 that was never released. She is a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. She was initiated into the Alpha Mu chapter (Missouri). Best friend is Kelly Lynch. Engaged to Lance Armstrong from 5 September 2005 to 3 February 2006. Was an All-State track athlete, medaling in the 75 low hurdles. Underwent surgery for early-stage breast cancer (15 February 2006). Close friend, and sometimes collaborator, of Stevie Nicks. Ranked #41 on VH1's 100 Sexiest Artists. Owns a 154-acre-farm outside Nashville, Tennessee. Daughter of Wendell Crow, a trumpeter and lawyer, and Bernice Crow, a piano teacher. Has two older sisters named Kathy and Karen and one younger brother named Steven Crow. Contributed accordion playing to Scott Weiland's 1998 solo album, 12 Bar Blues. Has been awarded 9 Grammy Awards for "Best New Artist" (1994), "Best Pop Female Vocalist" (1994), "Record of the Year" (1994), "Song of the Year" (1994), "Best Rock Album" (1996, 1998) and "Best Female Rock Vocalist" (1996, 1999, 2000). Has two adopted sons - Wyatt Steven Crow (born on April 29, 2007) and Levi James Crow (born on April 30, 2010). Friend of Courteney Cox and Jennifer Aniston. Was diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2011, but the tumor was benign [June 4, 2012].
