Round Hill Music, a full-service creative rights management company with a core focus on music publishing, is excited to officially announce the signing of a publishing joint venture with widely acclaimed indie record label, Mexican Summer (most renowned for launching the successful career of Best Coast).

"We really wanted to find a home for our roster and work with a publishing company that would spend the time and attention on new artists - that's really what we do, scour for new talent and concentrate on the creative development of promising independent artists," says Andrés Santo Domingo, President of Mexican Summer. "Round Hill Music just seemed to operate on the perfect size and scale of what we have in mind for the way that we handle our artists. We're extremely excited to be working with them and can really lay down the groundwork to building a really solid division of new up and coming indie artists for them."

Under the newly signed venture, Round Hill Music and Mexican Summer will be combining creative forces in order to provide publishing services to signed songwriters and artists on the established Brooklyn-based indie label, as well as teaming up to merge resources in order to provide primary creative development for a new indie artist division.

"This partnership with Mexican Summer, one of the most respected independent record labels in the business, is powerfully complimentary," says Josh Gruss, CEO of Round Hill. "We benefit from their ability to discover and sign amazing talent early on, and it gives Mexican Summer a full-service publishing platform that is similar in terms of culture and boutique feel. We are confident this partnership will open up many new opportunities to create value for the songwriters on Mexican Summer and Round Hill's publishing roster."

Founded by Kemado Records in 2008, Mexican Summer is an independent record label that started out by releasing limited-edition, ornately packaged vinyl pieces, which now number well over 100 releases across all formats. Mexican Summer has built a roster of indie talent that includes the likes of Best Coast's popular 100k + selling 2010 release, Crazy For You, and seminal releases from Washed Out and Kurt Vile, to name a few. Housed in their own building in the Greenpoint neighborhood of Brooklyn, the label, in conjunction with its own multi studio recording facility (Gary's Electric) and brick and mortar vinyl shop (COOP 87), has become a hub for both local, national, and international talent.

Over the years, the variety of past praised artists from Mexican Summer include Washed Out, Ariel Pink, Dungen, Real Estate, and Kurt Vile while the record label has garnered praise and attention from major tastemakers such as Pitchfork, Rolling Stone, The New York Times, Stereogum, NYLON, The Fader, Refinery 29, Death and Taxes - and much more.

Round Hill Music was founded by Josh Gruss in 2010 as a boutique-sized music publisher offering high-touch administration and creative services to its songwriters. Since then, Round Hill Music has signed exclusive worldwide publishing deals with some of the industry's most successful songwriters, while also building a stellar catalog of iconic songs.

Round Hill's exclusive worldwide publishing deals now include an extensive range of talent such as prolific songwriter and producer, Marti Frederiksen (Mick Jagger, Def Leppard, Pink, Aerosmith, Carrie Underwood) and composer Chris Caswell (Daft Punk, Happily Ever After, Alvin and the Chipmunks, The Muppets), newly signed singer/songwriter Tatu (Eve, DJ Headhunterz), and Brooklyn rock band American Authors. Now they will be adding Mexican Summer to this list of successful and exciting business partnership ventures.
