Finally, the wait is over. And not just for a spin of the dreidel or some delicious latkes with apple sauce. Celebrating the joy of the season, noted singer-songwriter Lisa Loeb has just released an original Hanukkah song called "Light." (Available today from the iTunes store.)
Telling the inspiring story of hope in the darkness, the song captures the essence of the metaphor of Hanukkah, that no matter how little there is left, there is always hope.
"I realized there aren't enough Hanukkah songs this time of year, and I think that everyone has to find their light."
The new single, in the acoustic tradition of Simon & Garfunkel, is written by Lisa and Cliff Goldmacher with special guest Renee Stahl on vocals. Its powerful message of hope is one to inspire people of all faiths in this holiday season. "Light" will soon be featured on SiriusXM Satellite Radio and other programming nationwide. Listen to "Light" HERE.
Lisa Loeb will go down in the record books as the first unsigned artist to top the American charts, as her meteoric single "Stay" - from the soundtrack to 1994's Reality Bites - spent three weeks at number one soon after the film's release. She is finishing up a multi-city concert tour to celebrate the 20th anniversary of "Stay."
Lisa is the is the author of Lisa Loeb's Silly Sing-Along: The Disappointing Pancake and Other Zany Songs and Lisa Loeb's Songs for Movin' and Shakin' (Sterling), both of which won Parents' Choice Awards. Lisa's dynamic career encompasses music, film, television, an eyewear collection, award-winning children's recordings, and her charity, the Camp Lisa Foundation.
