LeAnn Rimes will headline at the 13th Anniversary Gala of The Ridgefield Playhouse on Friday, November 22
One of the most popular and critically-acclaimed singers of our time whose stellar career was launched when she was just 13 with the Platinum hit single "Blue", American country-pop singer/songwriter LeAnn Rimes is coming to The Ridgefield Playhouse on Friday, November 22, to celebrate the 13th Anniversary of this non-profit performing arts center. LeAnn Rimes is making The Ridgefield Playhouse one of the first stateside stops on her world tour in support of her most personal album yet, Spitfire. Some of LeAnn Rimes' best-known hits are "How Do I Live?", "Can't Fight the Moonlight" and "Life Goes On". With a versatile vocal style similar to that of Patsy Cline, LeAnn was the youngest recipient of a Grammy Award and was also the first country recording artist to win in the "Best New Artist" category. The Gala festivities include dinner-by-the-bite with open bar and a silent auction beginning at 5:30 p.m. An open bar for non-gala ticket holders starts at 7:15 p.m. LeAnn Rimes takes the stage after a live auction at 8 p.m. A pair of Allison Stockel-inspired Inside-out Burmese pinky-red 4-carat ruby hoop earrings (2-inch diameter) set in 14-carat white gold created especially for the Gala by Larry Seegers of JEMS in Katonah, NY will be a coveted live auction item. Lori Berisford and Elaine Cox, the 2013 Gala Honorees, and the Arts Volunteer Award recipient Alex Fischetti, will be honored on stage before LeAnn Rimes' performance. When LeAnn Rimes made her debut in country music in 1996 with her album Blue, which reached number one on the Top Country Albums chart and was certified multi-Platinum, she was a prodigy with a big voice. When she released her sophomore studio effort in 1997, You Light Up My Life: Inspirational Songs, she moved towards country-pop material, which set the trend for a string of albums released into the next decade. Rimes has won many awards, including two Grammys, three ACMs, a CMA, 12 Billboard Music Awards, and one American Music award. She has also released ten studio albums, three compilation albums and two greatest hits albums and placed more than 40 singles on American and international charts since 1996. Rimes has also written four books: two novels and two children's books.
This past month, LeAnn sang what was said to be a fantastic rendition of "Amazing Grace" live (without accompaniment attesting to the caliber and strength of her voice) at the National Mall in Washington D.C. honoring the 50th anniversary of the 1963 March on Washington.
