Distinguished Concerts International New York (DCINY) presents a thrilling celebration of pure a cappella power with Total Vocal at Carnegie Hall on Sunday, March 29 at 2:00 pm. Arranger and conductor Deke Sharon-of Pitch Perfect and The Sing Off! fame-leads sixteen top a cappella choruses from across the U.S., Canada, and Australia in the vibrant afternoon performance featuring special appearances by singers Kelley Jakle and Shelley Regner, and stellar beatboxer and Chesney Snow.
Heralded as "a one man a cappella revolution" by The Boston Globe, Deke Sharon is responsible for the current sound of modern a cappella that has taken the world by storm. Deke produces the worldwide television hit The Sing-Off, and served as arranger, music director and vocal producer for Universal's a cappella-obsessed comedy Pitch Perfect and its upcoming highly-anticipated sequel, Pitch Perfect 2.
The DCINY concert will feature many of Deke Sharon's hit arrangements, including "I Got The Music In Me;" Michael Jackson's "Wanna Be Startin Somethin';" "Signed Sealed Delivered" by Stevie Wonder; U2's "Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For;" and the infectious "Bellas Finale" medley from Pitch Perfect.
Taking the stage as soloists alongside the DCINY choruses are Shelley Regner, known for her roles in Pitch Perfect and Bite! The Musical, and Kelley Jakle, also of Pitch Perfect fame, as well as the first and second seasons of The Sing-Off. Chesney Snow is a Drama Desk award-winning actor, beatboxer, poet, musician and songwriter, and executive producer and co-star of the 2014 documentary feature American Beatboxer.
