Inspired by the world famous annual tradition that takes place in Pamplona, Spain, 100 Montaditos, the celebrated restaurant chain from Spain, will inaugurate New York City's First Annual Running of the Bulls on Thursday Sept. 18 to celebrate the opening of its second location in the city and to raise money for the Food Bank For New York City. Participants will gather at 100 Montaditos' original Bleecker Street location (176 Bleecker Street), where they will be issued red t-shirts in honor of the red kerchiefs worn in by those running with the bulls in Pamplona every year. Led by a bull-rigged Harley Davidson and several other faux bulls, they will run, walk or stroll a mile to the new 100 Montaditos, 177 Ludlow Street. At the 100 Montaditos Ludlow Street finish line, their efforts will be rewarded with a two-hour party featuring the restaurant's signature namesake montaditos, tapas-sized rolls filled with mouthwatering ingredients from Spain, and open bar.

To be part of this New York twist on the 14th century-Spanish festival for an evening of excitement, food and drink, while helping combat hunger in New York City, future Running of the Bulls NYC-ers can register online at http://100montaditosny.com/running-of-the-bulls/ or at either 100 Montaditos' location for $10. Day of registration will be $15 and will open at 5:30 p.m. on Sept. 18 at the 176 Bleecker Street 100 Montaditos. The first Running of the Bulls in New York City will begin at 6:30.

All proceeds will be donated to Food Bank For New York City specifically benefiting their "Go Orange to End Hunger" campaign. Food Bank For New York City's month long campaign, Go Orange to End Hunger, is a citywide effort to unite New Yorkers to become aware and engaged in the fight against hunger.
