Dan Demers, Executive Artistic Director, announced today that critically-acclaimed comedian Dan St. Paul will bring his latest show, What's Funny After 50, to Hillbarn Theatre, the Peninsula's premier community theatre company, for two nights -- Friday, January 2(8 p.m.) and Saturday, January 3 (8 p.m.).

St. Paul, a Foster City native who has headlined San Francisco clubs for years as part of the comedy duo Murphy-St.Paul, has launched out on his own with a solo act that has even landed him in the finals of the nation's toughest comedy competition, The San Francisco International Stand-Up Comedy Competition. Armed with a Bachelors Degree in Italian from UC Berkeley, a teaching credential from San Francisco State, and a Masters Degree in special education, the majority of Dan's material comes from being a suburban husband and father and dealing with the frustrations of everyday life.

Tickets for Dan St. Paul's What's Funny After 50 are $10 and available now by calling 650.349.6411 ext. 2 or visiting www.hillbarntheatre.org.

Dan St. Paul moved to Los Angeles after spending nearly a decade performing and headlining some of the top comedy clubs in the Bay Area. He has appeared on several episodes of "An Evening at the Improv", plus numerous shows on VH-1, MTV, and Comedy Central. Since then, he has opened for such superstars as Jerry Seinfeld, Natalie Cole, Dwight Yoakum, Smokey Robinson, and Vince Gill. In a testament to the class of his act, Dan even opened for the San Francisco Symphony.

The Los Angeles Theater and Entertainment Review says about Dan, "Combining a sharp, clean wit with an outstanding talent for creating characters, Dan's show appeals to audiences of all ages...what sets Dan apart is that he doesn't just tell jokes, but rather creates a series of comedic events."

He has also appeared in the movie "Flubber" with the late Robin Williams (a fellow Bay Area native), and signed a recording deal with MCA records. His CD, "Natural and Good for You" contains one the most requested comedy pieces on radio, "The First Baseball Game."He also stars in his own one-man play, Outer Mission, Middle Class - The Comic Diary of an Immigrant's Son.

Dan St. Paul's What's Funny After 50 will be at Hillbarn Theatre (1285 East Hillsdale Blvd., Foster City) for two special performances on Friday, January 2 Saturday, January 3. Tickets are $10 and available now by calling 650.349.6411 ext. 2 or visiting www.hillbarntheatre.org.
