The Norwalk Symphony Orchestra has been bringing music to Norwalk and our surrounding towns for 75 years! In honor of loyal audiences who have enjoyed our music, we are giving a musical gift to our community - a free Broadway pops concert!

On Sunday, July 12 at 3pm, The Norwalk Symphony will join our community partners for a Broadway Pops Concert on the Great Lawn of Gallaher Mansion at Cranbury Park in Norwalk. The symphony will take the stage with NSO Music Director Jonathan Yates leading the Overture from Rossini's Barber of Seville. Then Grammy and Emmy Award-winning conductor and composer Paul Bogaev (a Wilton Resident!) will take the podium at 3:30 pm conducting a spectacular group of Broadway stars from The New Paradigm Theatre and up-and-coming stars from Music Theatre of Connecticut and Crystal Theatre.

Broadway performers include Kristin Huffman (Milford Resident!) and Fred Rose (both from the Tony Award winning show Broadway show "Company". Youth community partners the Talent Education Suzuki School Young musicians, the Norwalk Youth Symphony and students from the Darien high school music division have accepted the invitation to participate in this extraordinary opportunity to play under Mr. Bogaev, side-by-side with the professional musicians of the Norwalk Symphony Orchestra! This is a unique opportunity for our youth to be mentored by highly trained professionals!

"I am very excited about this concert, which is the first outdoor pops concert the symphony has held in 75 years. The collaborations are also a first for us, and we hope to continue these relationships into the orchestra's future." says Becki Christpherson, Board member of the NSO Board of Trustees.

Broadway, TV and Film star, Scott Bryce (a Weston resident!) will be the host for the event and will participate in a meet and greet for sponsors afterwards. Says Scott "I am so honored and excited to host this upcoming special event with The Norwalk Symphony Orchestra. I am especially thrilled to share the stage with Paul Bogaev and all the other remarkable performers joining us. This gift the Norwalk Symphony Orchestra is giving us is truly special. We are very blessed to have so much talent in our various communities in southern Connecticut and as a board member of New Paradigm Theatre, I am so very proud to see yet another example of how that community talent can be "orchestrated" to present entertainment, education and mentoring to all of our young people."

Please note, the rain site for this performance will be the Norwalk Concert Hall in Norwalk City Hall. Same day and time.
