The 79th Annual Tony Awards are this Sunday, June 7, 2026. It's the biggest awards show of the Broadway season and it closes out a long awards season for Broadway and Off-Broadway musicals and plays. Which Best Musical and Best Play nominees will take home the ultimate prize?

Caissie Levy has stated that she will not be starring in Next to Normal on Broadway. The Ragtime Tony Award nominee took to Instagram to reveal to fans that she will not be reprising her role as 'Diana Goodman' in New York City.

The iconic rock musical Hair is back in a bold new Brazilian production directed by Charles Möeller and Claudio Botelho. Lizzie: The Musical, more a rock concert than a musical theatre piece, includes quantities of facts and plenty of unproven notions about Lizzie Borden, whose acquittal of the murder of her parents in 1892 up in Massachusetts has remained in the national consciousness ever since.

While different tryout theaters have different relationships to the development of new shows, it’s worth looking at both which commercial rental theaters and which non-profit theaters have had the most Best Musical Tony Award winners come from their stages.

Today’s subject Bligh Voth is currently living her theatre life onstage at Signature Theatre playing the role of Woman in Strategic Love Play. The show runs through November 9th in the ARK.
