I know this is weird to ask, but, does anyone know if theaters like SCFTA in Costa Mesa, CA or Pantages in Hollywood, or San Diego CC have stage doors or any way to meet/ask for autographs after shows?

I'm seeing If/Then with Idina when she comes to CA and was hoping to "stage door" her, but I wouldn't know where to look.  It doesn't look like there is any "door" but, hopefully someone has tried or knows and can share some knowledge?

In most cases you'll find the stage door in the same general area as the loading dock. That would be the first area to check out if you are unsure of where it might be located.

I'm not familiar with those specific theatres, but something I've learned is that it never hurts to ask someone where the stage-door is, or even just to ask "do you know which door Ms. Menzel will be leaving from if I want to get an autograph?" You can always ask an usher, or a security guard, or look for a car that could be Idina's driver waiting for her. Or you could just look for a big mob of people who also want to meet her. That usually never fails.

I know for sure that the Pantages has a "stage door." The area is actually gated in before shows start, but barricades are set up after the show and the gates are open.  (When I see shows there, I take a bus, which parks right by that exit to pick us up, so I always see the barricades.)

The Pantages stage door is around the corner from the entrance. When you exit the theater, turn left and then left again at the corner (I think the street is Argyle?), the stage door is kind of in a little fenced off loading area but there should be barricades that make it pretty clear.

The San Diego Civic Theater stage door is also around the corner, when you exit the theater turn  right, there's a small alcove entrance to the backstage area and the cast will come through there.

When in doubt, ask an usher, they are usually very helpful.

Just look for the mob.

SCFTA does have a stagedoor! If you start at the box office and go all the way around to the back of the theatre you will see a big ramp going up to glass doors. The glass doors are the "stage door." To be honest, legitimately NO ONE stagedoors at SCFTA.

Thanks everyone for the tips!  I hope I will get a chance to meet Idina Menzel after If/Then, and maybe Kristin Chenowith when they both come to SCFTA.
