I was just wondering what kind of luck people were having with the lottery. I know some who have gotten it on their first try and others who have yet to win after multiple attempts, so I was just wondering what people's experiences have been on here. Thanks!
I won on my third try. For what it's worth, I entered as a single entry, and everyone sitting around me who also won had also entered for just one ticket.
I know that Fun Home also has the digital lottery on the TodayTix app, so I was wondering: do they have two separate lotteries, one digital and one at the theatre, or are both lotteries combined somehow?
The lotto is digital only. There isn't one at the theatre.
I entered about 30 times for 2 tickets. Also I didn't even really win at the first shot. Someone must have not accepted the tickets when they won and I got a call about 2 hours before the show started asking if I still wanted tickets. So just keep an eye on your phone when you enter too. The seats were amazing though. Front row. Just keep trying and you should win eventually.
I'd highly recommend you go in person to get the standing room tickets instead of putting up with the insurmountable odds of Todaytix. (The TodayTix lottery app gives people who tweet/facebook double or triple entries. Since I refuse to spam all my friends via facebook/twitter, my chances of winning are far less.)
After losing the lottery for the umpteenth time (before the Tony win), I said "screw this", went to the theater an hour before curtain, and got a prime standing room position.
I agree with stevenycguy! We entered the lottery a bunch of times unsuccessfully. We rushed for Standing Room one day (getting there about 30 minutes before the box office opened) and got tickets easily. It's a short show and there's a railing to lean on so it's not too uncomfortable!
It's posted elsewhere, but to amend what's posted above in June: the standing room is usually gone in the morning. People aren't having luck at showtime. I know people who tried yesterday at 11:45 for the matinee and it was long gone. If someone has/hears of another experience, post.
