Macbeth copying press art?

When the Alan Cumming solo Macbeth played the Lincoln Center Festival last year, the promotional art looked like this:



When The House of Von Macrame played a sold out run at the Bushwick Starr in mid-January, the promotional art looked like this:



When the Alan Cumming solo Macbeth was announced for Broadway at the very end of January, the promotional art looked like this:



Coincidence? The addition of the bloody M seems a little suspicious to me.

I'm sure there will be suspicious naysayers. Please know that I am not involved with either production. :)

If it is a direct copy to put a bloody crown/M on Cummings face, then so be it. I think the image looks better without the crown/M.

I don't like the "M" and the bloody nose. They both pull focus and you're left with nothing to look at.

I agree it's bad photoshop. Is it supposed to be carved into his forehead? Because it looks like someone drew on the photo with a red pen.

The image was much better without it. (And is it an "M"? If so, it's got too many humps.)
