Without raves I don't see how HANDS ON A HARDBODY will last very long.

Also, am I the only one who thought Johannson would've meant bigger grosses for CAT?

Cinderella continues it's million dollar per week run.

Hands on a Hardbody is doomed.

Tom Hanks is very loved. I've never seen over a million for a play.

Kinky Boots did half of what the could.

Interesting wee.

Congrats to "Chicago" for a nice little increase from the previous week. Plenty of other shows need some box office love. from RC in Austin, Texas (in NYC from June 7-10)

Holy cow, the average ticket to Hands on a Hardbody was $28.45?! Ouch.

The fact that Cinderella trailed only BOM, Wicked and The Lion King among musicals is pretty impressive to me. It even out grossed, wait for it, Spiderman.

I ask once more...Will HARDBODY even open? Or will it become the next GLORY DAYS?

I love it when people state the obvious. Yawn.

Though I didn't enjoy "hands on a hardbody" I respect their courage in bringing a new work to broadway and it was evident their(cast) passion for the project. I admittedly cringed at those numbers.

Am I the only one getting very tired of Patti Lupone FANatic? Everytime Chicago makes a tiny increase this is greeted with a tiresome ***congratulations post***, if anyone dares to ciritc Chicago in a way that this poster doesn't like, he is the first to jump down their neck.

This poster needs to get a healthy life balance.

It doesn't hurt anyone, and considering the show is often derided around these parts for various reasons, it's heartening that at least he's cheering for it.

As a 30+ year Keith Carradine fan, it's really sad to see these numbers for Hands on a Hardbody. Sounds like there is no chance of it still being around for my next NYC trip in late August. How DOES a show get a $28.45 ave. ticket price. I genuinely would like to understand. Are 1/2 the audience comps? Is everything a rush ticket? I am trying to figure out how this could even be achieved.

Discounts and comps galore. It's called papering, where they give tickets away just to have an audience.

Very sad.

Phantom, Phantom, Phantom.... In the back of my mind, I kind of expected someone to comment on my little gif. I do this sort of thing to amuse myself, to enliven this thread a bit and also to recognize "Chicago"...the Energizer Bunny musical of Broadway (with due recognition to Phantom of the Opera). The fact that such an inocuous display bothers you, says more about you than me. Most people see it for what it is....just a simple display of fan devotion. Stop being a bitter so-and-so. "This poster needs to get a healthy life balance. " (Physician...heal thyself. Do follow your own advice.) from RC in Austin, Texas P.S. A big hug and thanks to Smaxie, for your kind words.

Lucky Guy will probably recoup fairly quickly, are they doing 8 performances a week or like Death of a Salesman and Glengarry Glen Ross, just seven.

Nice numbers for Cinderella. Would be nice to see The Broadway Theater have a hit there for once(I think Miss Saigon was the last successful show there).

8 shows -- although I'm not sure if that's the case DURING previews.

Hardbody proves that some shows shouldn't go beyond regional productions. This might have even been a promising off-Broadway show.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't 1,500 or so not the full capacity of the Broadway? Don't they have the option of opening more seats in the back? If so, I can't tell if I'd rather open more seats or keep it closed off and increase demand.

JNB9872, I believe that during previews, Rows K-R of the rear mez were curtained off at the Broadway for Cindy, but as of last week those seats were being sold at about $35 each. If I'm correct, the numbers posted in last week's chart were off, as they didn't reflect the change in seating capacity.

Wasn't The Color Purple a hit at the Broadway? I could've sworn it recouped its investment.
