it says it expired yesterday, but it still worked.

Pammy, if you don't know the answer, don't run your trap. There certainly is a discount code available on broadwaybox.com, that is if you consider $97.00 a ticket to be a discount.

Well, it isn't working now. (I keep getting an error message) It SHOULDN'T have worked past 3/3, althought I realize they often do.

But I believe that Pammy is right -- it is unlikely that there will be more, at least for awhile.

When I bought my ticket last week to last night's performance, I used a Plum Benefits code (first time I've ever done so) that was good only for the first four performances for the first four rows of the balcony at $42 each. The box office guy had a heck of a time trying to find/apply the code in his computer because he said there were upwards of 16 different codes just for Plum alone--never mind Broadwaybox or others. I'm sure the popularity of the show is the main reason they're revoking discount codes, but I also think the dizzying dozens of codes was another reason to jettison them. It certainly makes life easier for the b.o. staff.

Can i ask why people waited to buy tickets. This show won SEVEN Olivers. Everyone has been anticipating this to be the must see show of the season. last time that happened was BOOK of MORMON. i was stupid and didn't buy tickets in advance then and still haven't seen it.

Is there a reason some of you waited until the one discount on Broadway Box expired?

Got my four 2 row, aisle balcony seats for March 22. The cost me $62/each, the most I have paid for a ticket in a very long time but I knew if I didn't pay now i would not see it for a long time.

My trip to NYC is the last week of April - that's why I'm asking about a discount code. I wasn't waiting until the last minute as the previous discount code just expired.

I'll be in NYC this weekend - seeing NY Pops at Carnegie Hall, "Kinky Boots" and Elaine Paige in concert at Town Hall.

Thanks for the info on Plum Benefits. I googled it, and found a current code of "Matilda." Hopefully one will pop up for when I need it in April.

I had tickets for the 1st preview I bought months ago but had to sell them due to a conflict. This thread reminded me I hadn't bought a new set. I'm with you Pammy, I missed getting Mormon tickets and I have yet to see it (I've lost the lotto 5 times). I was cursing yesterday when I discovered the discount code had expired I thought it was all happening again.

Sorry, but I don't see this becoming The Book of Mormon in popularity level here, just as I don't see The Book of Mormon becoming Matilda in popularity level on the West End. Yes, the bastards yanked the discount code but I bet it returns, just like with Billy Elliott.

Incidentally, before the code was unceremoniously yanked late yesterday morning,some stunning premium seats were coming up with the code. Row C center popped up for $97.00 for example. There were other prone locations at a discount rate as well. But I hesitated, and them they yanked it. Sigh.

I still say given the choice between Cinderella and Matilda, most little girls would ask for Cinderella, and so once the core group of regular ticket buyers have seen this, I expect at least a modest discount to return. Maybe I am deluding myself, but I'm going to give it a few weeks and see what happens. Three hundred bucks for a pair of seats to this thing ain't happening in my household.

I also was playing with the code yesterday and it got pulled before I could do anything about it! It is very hard to tell how much this one is going to blow up, because nobody is going to get quite as excited as the musical theater geeks on this board about any production!

I was seriously looking at a bunch of first and second row tickets for dates this week, when I suddenly remembered that paying nearly $300 for my daughter and I to see a show was really not anything I ought to be doing! My personal happy ending turned out to be a $75 orchestra seat for Monday night on Stubhub of all places...and if I love it, I'll take my kid at another time

I think it's also well to remember that if this is a monster hit, it'll be around for a long time, and there'll be more opportunities. Having stopped by the theater, I have to say the box office people's heads were spinning after the producers changed all the rules yesterday.

Guess I should've seen this one coming...I was so smart about Mormon, got everyone I love to see it very early on and very cheaply, but Matilda was not at all on my radar screen!

Yup, agreed. I saw the first preview of Mormon in second row mezz, aisle for, I think, around $65.00 per ticket. I bought the seats the day of the performance. They yanked the code a few days later. I really do think the Matilda code may return in a few weeks, but we shall see. If it doesn't return, Kinky Boots, here I come!

Who's everyone? I can think of plenty of shows that won more than a handful of Oliviers that didn't do so well stateside. Might I remind you that Legally Blonde closed at a loss here and scooped up a handful of Oliviers, including Best New Musical and Best Actress?

True - no show has ever won seven Olivier Awards before (it was nominated for ten), certainly took the West End by storm. It's unsurprisingly still selling out without any problems over here now.
