Anybody know if Matilda or Breakfast at Tiffany's have announced any rush policies?

I tried to find information on the Matilda website and there wasn't anything. Did anyone else notice that it's really hard to find the official site on Google? It's kind of ridiculous.

I don't think anything has been announced yet. Playbill.com didn't have anything, and they usually post it within 24-48 hours of it being announced.

I asked on Matildas facebook and they said a Rush policy will be announced shortly!

YES! Love to see another general rush show (Tiffany's) with apologies to the students that post here

Students are part of the general population, last time I checked. With a general rush, nobody loses out. Much more fair.

I was at the Shubert box office and overheard someone asking about a Matilda rush. The box office worker said he didn't know, but they won't be in the front row, as that's selling at full price.

Now I could definitely see the Cort selling front row rush tickets because the stage is so high...

Asked about rush at the Shubert box office today, and they said they probably wouldn't implement a rush policy until after it officially opens.

MATILDA!

$27 – a limited number of student tickets will be available at the box office on the day of the performance beginning at 10 AM. Two kinds of photo ID will be needed: a non-expired full time student ID, as well as a government issued photo ID, drivers license or passport. Limit 2 tickets per person per 30 day period. Of course, tickets are subject to availability and may not be offered at all performances. Some locations may be partial view.

That student rush policy description is far too vague.

Stopped by the Matilda box office this morning (after scoring a 10th row rush ticket to Hands on a Hardbody) and they swore there would be no rush at all...too funny!

TWO kinds of ID? LOL You don't need two kinds of ID to board a damn plane!

2 forms of ID? Is there an underground fake student ID ring?

ETA- Actually now that I think about it, this makes sense if they are going to enforce a limit of 2 tickets per month. This way they'd have the person's name, school, and a third piece of information to verify. They would be able to avoid a situation where two people with the same name from the same school try to get tickets and the box office could then differentiate between the two.

"they probably wouldn't implement a rush policy until after it officially opens."

really? I thought that was kind of uncommon. I was under the impression most shows start their rush as soon as they announce it. If that's true that sucks for me because I planned to rush it this week.

My guess it that they're going after people who use old student IDs, even though most student IDs don't have expiration dates and there's really no way to verify someone isn't a full-time student.

I'm more curious about the limit of 2 tickets per 30 day period. How will they track that and why do they seemingly want to curb repeaters?

Pretty easily, actually. They'll probably enter your name into their system. They can then track your ticket purchases. I mean, you could always just go with someone else who will be purchasing the tickets. But still.

I'm guessing they're trying to make the tickets more scarce.

^ I agree. I believe Mamma Mia has the same rush policy, with only 2 tickets per 30 days.

Anyone know if anything is still avail for tonight, first preview?

There might not be anything left for tonight, as when I stopped by the box office today I was offered standing room for that performance! Is Matilda worth all this...anyone?

They do have standing room, then. How is the view from there?

"Anyone know if anything is still avail for tonight, first preview?"

I checked earlier this morning and Telecharge was only showing a handful of seats in the back left mezzanine. It's most likely that the performance will end up being sold out by the time curtain goes up, if it isn't already.

As the box office attendant related to me a couple weeks ago when I went to buy a ticket, with the large number of children in the cast there has been a large demand from family and friends for tickets during previews (he also gave me the impression that dealing with these folk has not been the most pleasant experience).

I stood for Spamalot and the overhang cut off some of the higher elements of the set. Sir Robin's and Sir Lancelot's first appearances from the window perches on the sides of the stage were not visible to me from my center standing room spot.

If anyone cares about Breakfast at Tiffany's, I went to the box office around 12 today and got a seat Row D of the Orchestra all the way to the side. I don't know if they just sell whatever they have left hoewever
