Lea Salonga on The Voice Philippines

Lea will be a judge on The Voice in the Philippines next season, didn't know she was that famous there to be a judge. Congrats to her!

Good for her.

I know she is a huge star in the Philippines. They call her "the pride of the Philippines".

Also, to me she has "The voice". The only other person I've ever said that about was Whitney Houston.
A voice quality that only comes along once in a century (or twice in this case).

I think she will be a great judge. Her intelligence and honesty will be helpful to the candidates.

I didn't know there was a Voice in the Philippines! I'm very glad this is happening because not enough Bway people are "well-regarded" enough to get a gig like that and it REALLY bothers me! I think she will be a great judge! I guess she's going to have to move there to do the show which is a little sad 'cause then she probably won't really get to do shows & concerts here.

Lea Salonga released pop albums in the Philippines while she was also doing musicals at Repertory Philippines. Of course, I cannot think of her now as a "pop" singer but good for her getting this gig.

She was once a pop star. Her pre Miss Saigon days. Even singing with Ricky Martin (his Menudo days). Well, good luck to her. Broadway stars deserves more mainstream exposure than they usually get.
