Herdlicka and Stritch are very close- he's like assistant, grandson, son, and confidante all in one.

It's not at all unusual for someone of Hunter's age to be closer to a grandparent than to a parent. I know nothing of his personal life, and it's none of my business, but being purely specualtive, it's possible that Stritchy is fulfilling that role for him. I have kids in their 20s, and I'm fairly certain they'd rather spend time with her than with me.

They became exceptionally close during ALNM. Hunter was in from the beginning, and then Stritch came in to replace Angela. He always did his best to help her (she struggled mightily with lines, if you recall) and he treated her with the respect she deserved. And she became a mentor to him, and if you were his age, just starting a Broadway career, could you have a better friend or mentor than Elaine Stritch?

Seen him at 54 Below too with his STUD of a boyfriend - doubt he's dating Elaine. They could make broadway babies however. Herdlicka is seen with everyone all the time so like whats the deal with him and Elaine IMO-- nothing they worked together!

His boyfriend recently left as the lead in the Cirque du Soleil show, "Kooza", a role he actually created himself. Great dancer and gymnast, wouldn't be surprised if he wanted to start working in NY.
