They use one of the deepest, most heartfelt songs in the show for a
"diva-off" between two characters. It's clear they're trying to cash in on the success of the Les Mis movie, but really?

No! Why? Why are there not laws against something like this. This song should never have been allowed to be performed on Glee.

I actually like it.

It sounds like a prayer again. With nuances.

I wish I could say the same about Hugh Jackman's version.

Yeah, I don't know what's worse: Hugh Jackman's rendition of "Bring Him Home" or the sounds of a strangled cat.

At least it was pleasant to listen to than Jackman's version -- God, that tore my eardrum! I think some people are inclined to hate this just 'cause it's Glee/Lea Michele.

I hate Glee's tendency to make higher tessitura songs into belted numbers, and this is no exception.

I'll have to listen to Chris Colfer's version next--I'm not a big fan, but he has the right range for Valjean.

So sick of all this naysaying about the most exciting and talented leading man in contemporary Broadway musical theater. I can't think of anyone else who could have taken THE BOY FROM OZ from the ashes of poor reviews to hit status. Jackman sang "Bring Him Home" dozens of times in succession, from "pretty" takes to "raw and rough," according to director Tom Hooper. The take he chose was obviously from the latter category. If you had heard Jackman sing a selection from LES MIZ live on stage recently with the Philadelphia Orchestra and win over that discerning audience, you'd be--dare I say it?--singing a different tune. 'Nuff said.

Sorry, but that song is Colm's......

Saw Les Mis 18 times, but never with Colm - did see him in a solo concert where he sang it though....

And saw Boy From Oz 28 times, Hugh was never out, great show (also made me a Stephanie J Block fan)....

Still - that song is Colm's......

Well I wouldn't brag about the "cuts" Tom Hooper finally chose for the finished product. They're god-awful. But hey, don't mind me...it is just only my opinion.

Lea Michele is a good technical singer, but I have always felt like she overacts whenever she sings. That said, I would pick this version over Jackman's strained scream-fest every time.

Everytime that part in the movie comes on I hit the mute button on my television set.

there is ALWAYS hate on this board for Ms. Michelle..i personally like her voice very much and in this version she shows me the deep richness of her pipes...now is it my fav version of this song OF COURSE NOT!...but i revel in her voice so i am happy she sings this song as it is one of my fav Broadway songs...the pacing was rather slow, and that to me is the biggest mistake of this version...

I think she sounds great (and I am not a fan at all). But this is a bizarre song choice.

Lea Michele is very talented but that doesn't justify giving her songs that are completely wrong for her.

It's pretty -- the problem with her, for me, is never her vocals, it's the maniacal faces she makes when she sings. So listening is pleasant, but having to watch it? No. That being said, my reaction to this was still a giant "WHY," because it's a bizarre song choice. Bring Him Home for a "Diva-off"? But then again, continuity and Glee are not two things I should ever expect to see together.

I think it's a beautiful version.

The song choice makes absolutely no sense, but it's better than the crap top 40 songs Glee has been doing this season.

It sounds like something from Barbra's Broadway Album. Very lyric/soft into belt then back.

When Rachel and Kurt did their first sing off, Kurt was fighting for the right to sing a song traditional sung by girls. Now they are singing a boy's song. Here is Kurt's version.

Maybe it's fashionable to hate Glee (and, in many cases, completely deserved), but I can't hate this. I think this is a lovely cover of a beautiful song.
