Jekyll & Hyde Marquis or Rodgers?

Anyone know where this is going yet? & if they have an official opening night set
I called the Rodgers and they said it was going to the Marquis. Then called the Marquis and they didn't know for sure.
I write a theatre blog for SUNY Purchase and I would like to get the correct information
Figured I'd see if you guys knew anything.
Thank you

They announced it for the Rodgers. CAT isnt going to extend without ScarJo, who is going to be leaving at the 30th of March

I don't know why, but as soon as I heard this was going to Broadway, I wanted it to be the Marquis. I would be kind of happy if it changed theatres.

Why? The Rodgers is far moodier and better suited for the show.

Didn't JEKYLL announce a first preview date of 4/5? It wouldn't make sense if they were going in the Rodgers, then, with CAT running until 3/30.

BroadwayGuy, you're right. That might make sense if it were a regular production. But, this production is a touring one and one that is easily used to quick load in and load outs.

The move to the Marquis makes a whole lotta sense to me. Marquis has the advantage of overlooking Times Sq with its marquee as well as other spots for further advertising. Jekyll & Hyde is VERY popular entities in the foreign market. You know have tourists from these markets seeing the signage for Jekyll & Hyde and being easily excited. Also, tourists from spots in the US who may have missed out when it hit their area or want to see the show again now know where to go. I realize that the Rodgers isn't too far off the beaten path, but still, this makes more sense, and in that sense, MONEY!!

"The move to the Marquis makes a whole lotta sense to me. Marquis has the advantage of overlooking Times Sq with its marquee as well as other spots for further advertising. Jekyll & Hyde, and Mr Wildhorn for that matter, are VERY popular entities in the foreign market."

Because having Mr. Wildhorn's name hanging directly over Times Square worked so well for Wonderland.

Not that I'm saying they shouldn't move if they think it will be a better space for them (and I'm sure they have a good number of reasons for making the switch that we will never know), but the precedence for the Marquis being better at drawing in tourists just isn't there.

I see what you're saying AEA; I should've stated the more of a majority stance on the title and not the composer.

I guess it kind of makes sense... The tour played mainly cavernous "barns" on tour, and the Marquis is exactly that. I saw it in San Diego at the Civic Theatre. The show honestly works flawlessly in a big theatre... I can't really explain why, but there was something magical about that big production in a big theatre. I think the switch of theatres is a good idea.
