Well, Katie just booked a series regular role opposite Michael J Fox (playing his sister), so I assume her days at Annie are numbered. The show already has a series commitment of 22 episodes.
cglaid, Finneran's TV show is only prepping to film its first episode (though, as you say, it already has a straight to series order.) They're going on a hiatus after that before resuming filming the rest of the full season, so she should be good to go in ANNIE through the Tonys.
I was there last night! It was my first time going, so I have nothing to compare to, but she was wonderful!! Her "Little Girls" (and the reprise) brought down the house; it received the longest set of applause of the night.
