I was at 'Chaplin' tonight and Christiane Noll apparently missed both shows today. I find that odd considering the show closes tomorrow. Does anyone know what happened to her? I hear she's out quite a bit at 'Chaplin' and was also out regularly in 'Ragtime.' Does anyone know if she's having vocal issues or just has bad attendance?
I know that she had a scheduled concert, but she also missed her final weekend in 'Ragtime'... I'm noticing a trend here.
She missed the final weekend of that one week extension of Ragtime because she had booked another gig after the cast received the original closing notice.
Did you know that every day Mexican gays cross our borders and unplug our brain-dead ladies?
Noll makes her living doing concerts with symphonies around the country, which are booked years in advance. She's been out at CHAPLIN because of pre-existing concert conflicts, which is the same reason she missed the final weekend of RAGTIME.
Speaking of RAGTIME, she was not out of that show "regularly." She never missed a performance until that final weekend.
Tonya Pinkins: Then we had a "Lot's Wife" last June that was my personal favorite. I'm still trying to get them to let me sing it at some performance where we get to sing an excerpt that's gone.
Tony Kushner: You can sing it at my funeral.
Her attendance record is outstanding. Remember, this was scheduled as an open ended run -- this concert would have been booked well before a closing was announced.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.
These would all be dates that the producers were fully aware of before hiring her. Gee, one weekend off during the run of her show. The nerve of some people.
Time off is arranged by many performers throughout a run. Are they truly not suppose to take advantage of things that come their way?

Noll has been scheduled to be out of these shows since before the show announced it was closing.

Willis in Ghettoland?" - Dave19, in reference to the new ANNIE remake.
She's really good about tweeting when she's out of the show. I guess if you'd bought tickets in advance you might be caught off guard, but that can happen to anyone for anything.
Without bread we'd just be hungry
but without theatre we'd be dead
I know I've been disappointed when I've gone to see others in Bway shows and they're out (and I get really annoyed when I learn later on that their schedule was published/broadcast that they wouldn't perform that night which I might have known if I had done research before hand). Having said that, I've seen some great understudies go on in place of the actors I went to see. I don't think Christiane Noll is any different than other Bway performers in demand: she's busy! The one performer I still haven't seen yet (she was always out sick when I tried to see her) is Donna Murphy!
