Oh, please. Julia is going to be fantastic as always.

I'm so sick of people trashing her just because it's what all the cool kids are doing.

LOL. I don't think it's cool to trash her, I've just never truly enjoyed her in anything. Not my taste. I still don't think she'll be terrible, I just would've preferred someone else.

For some reason I always thought it would be a feature film and not for made for TV movie.

Interesting. Come to think of it, maybe it would work better that way.

Too bad Ryan Murphy destroys all that he touches. Sigh.

Count me in the few who are content with Ryan Murphy. I am no fan of glee, but I love American Horror Story, and enjoyed what little I saw of Nip/Tuck. He has had some misses, but I think he can handle it.

Count me as cautiously optimistic. I like American Horror Story and (parts of) Glee, but never saw Running With Scissors or Eat, Pray, Love.

I'm more worried about Murphy than Roberts. And I like Roberts, I'm just not sure THIS is right for her.

That being said, I will look forward to this as I truly loved this play.

I think that Ryan Murphy does better with SHORT things. It's why people like American Horror Story, it's a new show every year. It's why people like the first season of Glee, because he hadn't get around to ****ing with it for his own amusement.

First 2 seasons of Nip/Tuck were incredible. Then...

I don't hate American Horror Story or even Glee, but I think he's got a nice team of writers keeping him afloat. It seems that the episodes Murphy does most of the writing/directing on are suddenly way worse than the rest of the series, IMO.

I haven't seen Running with Scissors but Eat Pray Love was a train wreck.

So true. Nip/Tuck started of as one off the best series on TV.

If you haven't seen RUNNING WITH SCISSORS, keep it that way, it's not even worth watching in a "so bad it's good" kinda way, it's one of the most pointless, uninspired, stale movies I have ever seen.
The cast could do wonders with the material, the director will ruin it.

I thought we knew all of that (Roberts, Ruffalo, Murphy, TV movie, HBO) ages ago...

I love this play more than I can say, too much to be okay with this. Which sounds backwards, I should be glad it's getting made, but no. I hope everything about how I imagine this ending up is wrong, and that it somehow turns out well. It has a Kramer-written screenplay and the possibility of a great Ned going for it, if Murphy doesn't f*ck those up.

I'm trying to remember how much I love the HBO Angels in America film, but that was in much more capable hands, and ultimately the distribution can't compensate for that.

Why Jebus Why, I mean really come on, Ryan Murphy. The man should never be allowed to write or direct anything with homos in it ever again.

I wish it would be Ellen Barkin - or, you know, someone who can act.

I have a feeling Murphy may surprise people. It's not his original creation (nor a series requiring long-term consistency) and he seems very passionate about the project. Roberts isn't ideal casting, but Ruffalo should be great and a strong supporting cast should help.

I will join the chorus of people who think Roberts is a wrong casting choice for this role. It's too bad IMHO.
