This better get some buzz and good word of mouth quick or it'll flop hard.

Word. I don't see this lasting unless they drum up some serious buzz real fast.

I'm glad they're taking a smaller house. With no big names to sell it, the show has to sell itself by word of mouth. This takes the pressure off having to sell out a giant barn like the Marquis or Neil Simon.

And yes, I'm seeing it in Cambridge, but my bus ticket/friends I'm staying with are in Boston. Please forgive my stupidity.

Any reviews yet from tonight's opening?
Theatre is not just some petty extracurricular activity I do in my spare time. It is my life, it is my passion, it is who I am. Nothing and no one can change that or take it away from me. All the world is MY stage.

Songwriter Joseph ("You Light Up My Life") Brooks presented Broadway with a headscratcher of a musical, In My Life, on October 20, 2005. Brooks provided book, music and lyrics for this story of a young man with Tourette's Syndrome, who turns out to be the unwitting lead in a "reality opera" supervised by a pudgy, bike-riding individual named Al, who turns out to be God. For some reason the proceedings were illustrated with pervasive images of lemons, which provided good fun for the critics who put the squeeze on the show. Despite a vigorous advertisting campaign, the show could not overcome cataclysmic reviews and closed after 61 performances. Playbill.com
quote by Beatrice Lillie: “Noel [Coward] and I were in Paris once. Adjoining rooms, of course. One night, I felt mischievous, so I knocked on Noel's door, and he asked, 'Who is it?' I lowered my voice and said 'Hotel detective. Have you got a gentleman in your room?' He answered, 'Just a minute, I'll ask him.'”

I really hope they get Patina Miller to come to Broadway production as well. She's such a talented performer.

If this wins best revival Paluas will have directed 3 of the last 4 revival winners...either she is a genius (which I am not denying) or well she is the only director willing to try and completly reinterpret "semi" classics

I'm excited for this. Of course its te THIRTEENTH show starting in March, so they better figure out a way to get people in those seats ASAP.

I don't wanna be a downer, but this has no hope!
Well I didn't want to get into it, but he's a Satanist. Every full moon he sacrifices 4 puppies to the Dark Lord and smears their blood on his paino. This should help you understand the score for Wicked a little bit more. Tazber's: Reply to Is Stephen Schwartz a Practicing Christian

Very exciting! The show is very strong. I really hope it does well on Broadway, and that they keep the cast intact.

Maybe Whoopi can pull some strings and have them on The View since she's pretty fond of Patina.

Its a smart move taking a small theatre (860 seats). It's riding on the name of the show and whatever reviews it gets from Boston papers. No real stars unless they re-cast Berthe or Charlemange (which, from all reports here, it doesn't sound like they would.)

Anyone know if Brantley is reviewing?

EDIT: Who ever said Wiki was right in terms of theatre capacity! Still - 1000-ish is not a huge space to fill. Unless, of course, the show is Dead Accounts or In My Life. There were no stars for Hair. It sold because it was good (though Hair is more well known than Pippin)

It'd actually be 3 of the last 5. Both La Cage and Anything Goes came between Hair and Porgy and Bess.

IBDB had it listed at 1025 which obviously can always change due to show needs.

Well, based on buzz and Andrea Martin it could do well. Hope to see it when I head to NY in May!
