That's part of the problem. Every time an actor gets a check for being in a medical commercial it raises the price of healthcare so others can't afford it.

But worse is the career choice on Norm's part. I believed he had a limp as Porgy. I believe him as a politician on Scandal. He's a great actor. But in that commercial, he looks happy like he's packin! It's his worst performance ever!

The man just finished a successful a run in Porgy and Bess....has a featured role on one of TV's HOTTEST shows: Scandal...and is making bank every time that commercial runs on TV. He don't need a new agent.

First of all, everyone here needs to get a life! Hello!

Look at the bigger picture.

After a Broadway performance an actor asks the audience to make a donation to BCEFA so they can continue their amazing efforts to help people pay for their medical expenses.

Then a pharmaceutical company spending 40% of their budget on advertising pays actors tens of thousands of dollars on unnecessary commercials. (Is there ANYONE out there who needs a TV ad to know there are little blue pills available if they need them?)

These expenses then raise the cost of the drugs which gets spread across all the company's products which keeps health care costs rising as a rate faster than most people can afford,

Then following the next performance, actors have to continue to ask people to donate more money to pay for more health care costs.

Actors making money off car commercials - great! Cleaning supplies - wonderful!

Actors making money off unaffordable health care? It's not something to support!

Oh lord. Norm Lewis is an actor, who needs to make a living. That comes before taking a weird moral stance on unaffordable healthcare. And if unaffordable healthcare is a hot-button issue for you, I promise there are many more relevant things to rant about besides Norm Lewis in an ED commercial.

Norm doesn't need a new agent, the agent is getting Norm work. It's Norm's job to decide whether he wants to accept the work or not.

I remember a few years ago, Carol Burnett and Whoopi Goldberg both did Entemann's Baked Goods commercials. At the time I wondered why either woman would do that. I wouldn't think they needed the money, it wasn't a career enhancer and it's hard to believe that either one of them was that crazy about pre-packaged cookies and donuts. I came to the conclusion that they had to do some type of community service or the CEO of Entemann's had pictures of them in compromising situations.

Good grief, even Laurence Olivier hawked cameras. The list of actors who did commercials early in their careers is too long to contemplate. For all we know Norm Lewis has donated his earnings to charity. Judge not, and all that, y'know.
