Anyone heard anything else about this? I was watching the Kennedy Center Honors last night and remembered J-Hud singing "I'm Here" for Oprah and people saying that was her "audition". Oprah even made a comment once that she was making it into a movie but that was a while back. Anything?
One of the absolute worst movie to musical adaptations ever. Just let it die and let the movie remain one of the greatest in all of cinema history.

The musical wasn't bad, but I don't know what the hell Oprah was thinking when she wanted to turn it into a movie musical. I think that there should only be the classic hit movie, and that's it.
