I really hate sometimes starting threads on here but here goes.
and it might seem silly for those who live up this side too....
I've done Wicked Lotto, and its done in their sort of breezeway thing, which is covered. Now I know the O'Neal theatre does not have a huge lobby or anything, but what happens at BOM lotto if it is a heavy show/rain day? do you have to just bare it outside?
Asking because I will be there end of January, and coming from the tropics, obviously not used to cold and such (although looking forward to the change) so was wondering what to expect if the weather gets rough.

Yup. No alternative. Mind you, that time of year, you won't have as much competition, so for SRO you can get there later in the morning.

These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.
But I've seen that mentality work against me, as well. If on a certain day a lot of people think there won't be a lot of people, even more than usual can show up thinking it's a good day to do it.

thanks, will have to look into it when i get there, was not really thinking about trying SRO, because I hear it is just as mad as the lotto, and atleast with the lotto, you're there about an hour or so i guess (and once you put in your name you dont have to stick around)

Standing room can be as little as two hours or as much as seven. It's a crapshoot and can be weather-dependent. The lightest BoM lotto I ever attended was the performance just before Hurricane Sandy; about 60 - 70 people showed up, maybe.
They start taking names 30 minutes before calling names -- not "an hour or so."

I usually get there 5 min to picking names, that way you wait 10 min to see if you get picked or not. Once I got there when lottery opened, put my name then looked at SRO line and it was very short, so I stayed there. Of course I didn't win lottery BUT got last ticket for SRO.
