Top 10 Theater of 2012

I've compiled what I call the Top 10 lists of Top 10 Theater of 2012 -- lists by the critics of the New York Times (both), Time, Time Out New York (both), New York Magazine, The New Yorker, Entertainment Weekly, the Associated Press. I've given my own list too -- and a separate list of the top 10 shows of 2012 that you can still actually see (as of this writing)
There is only one show that almost all (but not all) the critics have on their list.

Thanks for compiling! It's interesting to see them all together. I was surprised to see I had the most "matches" with Scott Brown (and not just because he squeezed extras on the list. I would have guessed it would be Isherwood or one of the Time Out critics.

On small point: I could be counting wrong, but I think One Man, Two Guvnors is actually on one more of those lists than Virginia Woolf, making it the most selected show. Which, if it's true, makes me very happy.

Yeah, I counted One Man, Two Guvnors as the top show as well. I think Virginia Woolf tied it, but only if you count all three the the OP's lists separately... But that's what my counting got.

Yes, you're both right. One Man, Two Guvnors is on most of the lists; that was the show I was thinking of; only two critics omit mention of it. But Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf is a close second; only three critics omit it.

Aren't these sorts of lists mostly off-Broadway and other things that aren't Broadway anyway? This fall has been sort of dismal especially in terms of new work but I'm not surprised at the amount of off-Broadway on those lists at all.

I wanted to include Kevin Spacey on my own list, but RICHARD III is not a great play in and of itself.
