Bare now playing at New World Stages has everything a high school sex romp romcom needs to succeed; a slutty girl with a mysterious past, a hilariously perky asian, a teacher who turns out to be a great cabaret performer in a drug-induced song and dance number staring the Virgin Mary. Except its about a secret gay romance so it's a tragic drama instead. Are we bi-curious for this revival or are we totally gay for it?
Sunday was the 2nd night of Channuka. Even if it WAS the first night, why is it strange? It's not considered that big of a holiday, pretty low on the religious front, actually. Gentiles assume that its a big deal like Christmas - not even close. Our big "High Holy Days" (official name) are Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement) and Rosh Hashana (New Year's).
If you were referring to JACKIE'S show opening on Channuka -- isn't it a channuka themed show? But even so, still not a big religious deal. As with most things Jewish, it's about family.
yes, Mama, her show is a Jewish version of A XMAS STORY. I was kinda joking about her being there.
Back to BARE. Did they open on a Sunday to avoid reviews? There's one bad one on ATC, though most reliable poster hate that guy. And are A&A brothers or BFFs?
I doubt if they get panned or receive glowing notices. We have a feeling they will be mixed. Not nearly as bad as Godspell; nor good as Spring Awaking. It is the kind of show that ATC would dismiss. (BTW: ATC said that we give show queens a bad name. LOL)
In regards to AA, a lot of people seem to ask those questions. :)
I was refering to Andrew Andrew's post, not yours Curtain -- I understood your comment.
And AA -- I think you meant that you "DEFER" to me. Unless you are going to continue to check in with me on all things Jewish. And that would not be wise -- I'm not a very good Jew.
