I personally think he's a WONDERFUL talent, and have for years, and it just 'hit me' tonight: I think he definitely has the chops to pull it off.

I could buy that. I saw A Christmas Story earlier this week and he was definitely one of the standout performances - able to deliver on the comedy, but I imagine he'd be much more convincing as the ladies' man that Winter is supposed to be in Nice Work.
He's very talented, and knows how to get the most laughs possible even in the direst of circumstances. Too bad he's been saddled with such intractable fare of late. He's really had to work like the dickens against formidable odds in Christmas Story and Last Smoker in America.
