Shrek the Musical in *Dutch! (Edited)

Thoughts? Not sure how I feel about this production...

EDIT: Apologies that I thought it was German. In my defense, I they are both Germanic, and I thought I head German, as I understood some of it. They are somewhat similar, and easy to confuse for foreigners.

Probably a pretty lame reply, but it's actually in Dutch and not German.
This production's playing the RAI Theater near Amsterdam.

Haven't seen it and don't plan on seeing it, but it just extended its run with 3 more months, so I guess it's doing pretty well...

Ow come on! Google something before you post it!
There is a big, big difference between German and Dutch - Germany and the Netherlands.

I'm from the Netherlands, so it bothers me that you make this mistake.

And yes it's a cheap production with a short Shrek..

To be fair, to the American ear, they sound similar. Aren't they even classified together? No sense to be offended.

And what exactly were they suppose to google? If the OP assumed it was German, whey would they post to clarify.

To the OP: why do you feel you have to feel anything about the production. I think its impossible to judge foreign productions unless you have an understanding of their culture and history of performance arts -- things are just different.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

I get the fact that it sounds the same. But it's not!

And if you're not sure. In the description box, you can read it plays at the RAI Theater and that the video is made bij Avro Tv. If you google both of them, you know it's Dutch!

Shrek in Holland is produced by a smaller production company (and not the big Stage Entertainment). So it's a cheaper, smaller version of Shrek.

Dude, it's not that big of a deal. Yes, we hate ze Djermans; yes, we love kicking their tails in soccer, but come on. Whenever I talk Dutch, people tend to think I'm speaking German. They are both Germanic languages after all...
Going back to the topic: is that the same William that was on 'Wie Is De Mol'?

Sorry if anyone is offended I thought it was German.

What I meant to ask is: if anyone is familiar with this production, how did they enjoy it? From what I see via the videos, it looks like they are using a translated version of the USA/Canada Natl' Tour. (Not Broadway).

Thank you.

Yes that's the same William as Wie is de Mol.

It a total new production. But the set and costume designers based the designs on the west-end production.
