I was just walking by the Sondheim last night and wondering what would go there next.
I think this is really exciting. It's the first thing that's been announced recently that I'm genuinely interested in seeing.
It will be difficult to match the perfection of Lois Smith in the Signature revival some 7ish years back though. Wish that had made it to Broadway as well.
The Lois Smith revival was indeed special, but I'm excited to see a fresh take on the play and the role. Michael Wilson has scored consistently high marks with me in the past--I think he's a really solid choice to direct this.
This (for me) is the most exciting event in the spring season.
Cicely Tyson is one of the greatest actors of all time, and to get to see her back on Broadway at almost 80 years old in a role as rich as this one is a thrilling opportunity.
