It's not a perfect show but there was a decent house and the people seemed to enjoy it! Maybe it's getting better! And kudos to the actors for giving it their all!

Wow, I saw a completely different show. Inept and bland. God bless those actors making it, sort of, work. But, honestly, it's just not very good. Cannot think of a blander score or script. But, as I said, bless them all.

Wow.
I guess I should say I'm glad you enjoyed yourself.
But it's really embarrassing when this kind of thing hits Broadway... not to mention how many GREAT shows are written and workshopped and never make it to broadway. As an artist, it is extremely frustrating.
I think shows like this are bad for the whole community.

A friend of mine was in the mezzanine tonight, said thirty people in the mezzanine. I predict 12/30 or 1/6 closing.

THIRTY people in the mezzanine?? Holy sh*t. When I saw it last Tuesday, the mezzanine was 65% full, probably. But thirty people... Jeez.

Uh oh. You liked a show that some people didn't. Get ready for the Frasier-like avalanche of pretension to crash down on your head.

I feel your pain. I loved Leap of Faith, but you would have thought I had pledged my allegiance to Satan.

Although I did not believe the show was a wondrous occasion. I think I had a good time for what little money I spent on the Orchestra seats. Carolee gave me a Master Class in voice and Roz Ryan stole every last scene she was in. I enjoyed the show. The book was really dicey at points and got very tiresome as it plunged through too much material at once. And some great actors were very underused. Andrew Samonsky has a wonderful voice and he gets one song? Really? THE GEORGE HEARN gets the smallest role known to man. I know I exaggerate, but the role was very minuscule.

You can't judge a house by the number of people, but the average price they paid to attend.

Their average last week was $53 a ticket, at a show where the orchestra runs $130/seat full price.

When there's only 30 people in the mezzanine, average ticket price doesn't really matter.

When I said I had a good time I didn't mean I liked the show. I thought the set, lyrics, and book were horrendous. I liked some of the music, but wanted to see Carolee so bad that I endured the show. I enjoyed the cast more than the show itself. I would see this cast perform a better piece any day.

I know many of you might not agree but being overly critical is kind of like telling a mother their baby is ugly! The truth is we all have opinions about everything but no one, especially the critics, get to speak for everyone! And I agree that there are so many incredible plays, actors, dancers, set designers, etc. that never get the chance they deserve. The more theatre, the more opportunities for all the talented people out there!!

But if they like the plastic slipcovers or think they are classy...thats all that matters. Same thing if you like or hate a show. it is their opinion. The only opinion that matters to me is my own.

Not really, but a lot of people believe that - they're called relativists; they think that there is no right or wrong, no good or bad; all that matters is what the individual believes, whether the individual is sophisticated or ignorant.

It's much easier to embrace relativism than to actually study something and develop one's knowledge or tastes. That's why it's so popular. Who wants to work at anything?

JOKING!

I wouldn't tell KLG that Scandalous was the worst show I've seen in recent memory. However, I would tell her I thought it wasn't very good and needed a lot of work. Maybe that's the equivalent of saying an ugly baby has "an unusual look."
