Hello, I am writing to say that I have just started a petition to bring the West End production "London Road" to Broadway. I found it to be a visionary concept that would be a big success here. Mind you, this is not forcing the creators to get to work on it, but rather just raising interest in the possibility. And no, I do not work for the production. -_-
Speaking as someone who thought London Road was marvellous and deserved to win several of the awards Matilda won that season, you have to be absolutely flippin' bonkers if you think it would work on Broadway.
Verbatim musical theatre about an Ipswich community's reaction to murdered prostitutes and the ensuing court case? Yeah, THAT'll go down well on the Great White Way. You'd have half the audience (and actors) unable to understand the dialogue, for one.
