So far we were thinking: We are taking a family vocation to New York We will have around the three weeks mark for United States We will be in Australia around the end of June to the Beginning of July. May I ask what would you do in the time frame. Where to stay as well just between 500-700 dollars and some great dining with prix fix menu.
It is tough to give you advice without more information. Are you looking for a place to stay in NY for $500-$700 for 5 days? If so, it will be almost impossible to find something at that price range. Any place in theatre district will have price fixed menu but once again what type of food do you like? The US is a big country and many wonderful things to see but how do you plan on traveling from NY to other places (air, car etc). Once you can provide a few more details, I think you will get some thoughts/advice.
I'm new to here and would really appreciate some help. I am going on this once upon a time trip. I am going during May. I've put together an itinerary that I like., but was wondering if anybody would be kind enough to check it over and point out problems with the route. suggestions! It is both of our first time to the city .
Day 1 - arrive at airport at approx 20.00, get back to the hotel (midtown west 35th street) settle in and acclimatise! day 2 – statue of liberty
day 3 –grand central terminal day 4 - Bronx Zoo day 5 –Brooklyn Museum
does this sound feasible? I want to fill my days but not do too much so we feel rushed. I have no idea where to dine but will work that out myself. I am also looking at some nice dining its my 50th birthday
my mother tried to orchestrate a family vocation once -- my brother renounced catholicism and i came out!!
:)
more seriously, i'm not sure why you've allocated so much time to Grand Central -- it's a lovely building, but at the end of the day it's a train station. unless there's a SERIOUS architecture buff in your family, i think people will be bored after an hour.
also, if you want the *full* statue of liberty experience (i.e., the Ellis Island tour) be sure to book well in advance -- space on the boats to ferry over sells out early.
finally, the bronx zoo is GREAT, but if you find yourself feeling constrained for time it might be worth considering that, if you've been to any of the world's great zoos, this will feel like a familiar excursion.
