Really touches my heart to see the Legs clips. I spent months and months backstage at the beautiful Mark Hellinger trying to get the scenery to do what it supposed to do on that show, even as the writers kept rewriting the libretto to delete scene after scene that was already working well. What an ill-fated show that was-- and how foolhardy we all were to try to get the scenery right when the basic idea of the show was never gonna work. How bittersweet to see those ghosts flickering back to life again on Youtube.
I saw this with my mom when I was in the 7th grade. I absolutely loved it but hey, I was all of 12. We actually got to meet with Peter Allen at the stage door and he was very pleasent. I remember it like it was yesterday.
I have the full DVD of Legs Diamond (audience shot), it has some fun moments but as a whole its a bit of a wreck, Allen is so not suitable for the role.
Also have Baby Jane the musical DVD and it's HORRIBLE, ensemble coming out of mirrors and some of the worst staging i have ever seen and the score is dreadful
