I am currently applying for schools and am looking at the following... University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point Roosevelt University-Chicago College of Performing Arts Ball State University AMDA University of Michigan
I have visited Roosevelt many times and love it there, but I have not heard much new on the popularity or the recognition of their program.
University Of North Carolina School Of The Arts has a very good reputation. If you were looking for just a great dance program, I would recommend Florida State University where my daughter is a dance major and will be graduating in a couple of months.
Is it really necessary to be "sarcastic" when answering a young person's question. Nobody made you reply to the question so the "700 billion other threads started on this topic" is not really necessary. Obviously, the person is new to this board and this type of remark might make them think people are not very friendly.
yankeefan, if one cannot even master the search function of a message board, how can they expect to fare well in the competitive college application process? Admission to top schools, even if your concentration is performing, is based on more than just your talent in the arts.
OP- Stay away from SCAMDA. That's all I'm gonna say.
Kelly2- OMG. OP has looked into some schools and just asked a question. My goodness, OP probably assumed this was a board with decent people interested in theater who might respond with a civil answer. BTW - quite sure the OP knows how to use "Search" function.
Yankee- Not to belabor the point, but clearly he/she couldn't be bothered to find the "student" board or find a more appropriate venue for the question, so...
Well, you ARE belaboring the point. So he/she didn't see the student board. So what? Is it that difficult to be helpful or pleasant? Good grief.
OP, go to the the link I provided. There are lots of friendly people there who actually know what they're talking about and are more than willing to help you.
