Oh I'm definitely in too. Wednesday night is going to be some of the most fun tv- Chicago Fire, Arrow and Nashville.
I thought the pilot was strong considering these firefighter shows seem so similar to one another, even more so than cop and doctor shows. I was expecting another Third Watch and pretty much got it.
The young actors may have been hired partly for their looks (no complaints), but they are genuinely charismatic. And it's nice to see Said (Eamonn Walker) back on tv. He's bulked up since his days on Oz too.
I wish the show well and hope it doesn't go the way of LA Firefighters!

I think unless this show goes south quick we can expect it around for a while. It's a Dick Wolf production and NBC really has his back. Anyone else still in disbelief that Taylor Kinney dates Gaga?
Yes, that surprises me too. I think Kinney looks like Kerr Smith. He was already in the ill-fated Trauma a few seasons ago on NBC. This type of genre show just doesn't seem to last, no matter who is backing it.

Chicago Fire only got a 1.9 in the 18-49 rating. That's pretty rough, especially since there is usually a decent drop off after the premiere. Even with Dick Wolf's name on this project I'm already worried.

I thought it was better than I expected, though it doesn't scream "can't miss" tv to me, personally.
I'm not sure about the comment that NBC has Dick Wolf's back. They had no issue quickly canceling some of his flop Law and Order spin offs, for example (Trial by whatever it was called--I can't keep them straight).
I liked last night's episode as well, but savor it while you can. The ratings sunk to a 1.5 in the 18-49. This means almost certain death for a show mid-season.
