I just watched the first episode and was highly impressed. I expected somethin a lot stupider but I'm hooked (which means it'll be cancelled by Halloween).

Thoughts?

First of all, black lady hair!!!!! I loved that tight 'fro, cause, really...without electricity, how can you be anything but all Motherland Nubian fabulous?

I watched it last week on iTunes. I really enjoyed it. I didn't see the twist at the end coming. I think the Tracy Spiridakos is very earnest...which works, for now. I'm hoping she acquires a bit of bite and sneer as we move forward.

In general, I found it entertaining and made me want to watch more.

I enjoyed it, but I fear it will go the way of Jericho and Terra Nova.

It's gotten pretty stinko reviews, hasn't it? Not that that ever stops anything from being successful, but I haven't seen much positive said about it.

I just finished the first episode earlier today and thought it was not bad. I can't say I'm desperate to find out what happens next, but I'll keep watching for the time being.

A lot of people keep (derisively) comparing it to the Hunger Games, which I really don't see, except for the fact that they are both dystopian futures and some people in both use bows and arrows.

I'm on the fence, not bad but it's a little all over the place.

It debuted to impressive ratings, but it's going up against heavy competition next week and in the weeks that follow.

Has anyone seen Last Resort? It's also screening for free.

It got NBC's best drama premier ratings in five years, though it did have a big drop off in the second half (and NBC hasn't done very well rating wise in five years, and the last time they scored as well was with their Bionic Woman reboot, so it doesn't say all that much).

I thought it was a good pilot--I'm a bit worried it will go the route of a number of kinda similar shows we've had post Lost--Fast Forward, V, etc. But I'll watcha few more episodes. While they are advertising it on JJ Abrams' name, he's just one producer and it's through his production team (I wish Abrams had more time to WRITE a show--the last show with his name on it that he was actually headwriter for was the brilliant Alias--yet they use his name to give the impression that all these other shows--from that flop spy couple show to Fringe--was his creation. Even with Lost he has said he just reworked the concept and wrote the pilot and so got producing credit, yet admits he had zero story input after that).

Anyway, the real creator and headwriter is Eric Kripke who created Supernatural (and was a key writer on many fanfave episodes of X-Files). I found that show fun in a sub Buffy way, with nice eye candy, but when Kripke left after Season 5 (he said that was where he always intended the story to end, but the CW had a contract to run it as long as they want), I gave it a chance for a while but lost interest. But I thought he did decently enough that I'm curious to see where he goes with this.

I watched 15 minutes and thought it was dreck. The interesting story would be what happened immediately after the loss of power. Now it is just another dystopia story. I have never really recovered from the loss of 7 years of my life thinking LOST was the best thing I had ever seen, until the final 20 minutes made me beat my head against a wall to make the pain stop.

I'm really digging this show, and thought last night's episode was the best so far.

The final flashback reveal and then the scene in Grace's home both got me.

This and Nashville (judging from the pilot) are my two favorite new shows this season.
