The 1st national tour closed this last Sunday.

Not sure why people are calling this the 1st national tour..

The 1st national closed years ago...

The 2d national opened in 2002, was downsized, the closed and "re-opened" as the hideously designed production that closed last week.. So, really, it's tour 2.5 or even tour 3.

Mamma Mia! has a few more years left in it, I think it'll move to a smaller theatre before it closes completely.

Yeah the tour just closed, and is schedueld to start back up in 2013. Not sure if it's equity still though.

It's also transferring theatres in London next week, from The Prince of Wales to The Novello (third home).

There was also a misleading headline here that could have made it seem like it was closing over the weekend. It was badly writeen. (I'll see if I can find it.)

Yup...here it is:

"Photo Flash: Saturday Intermission Pics, Aug 25 - Goodbye MAMMA MIA! and SISTER ACT, Hello CHAPLIN!"

If you didn't open the article to see they were referring to the tour, I could see the misunderstanding. I remember thinking, at first, how did I not know about that?

I saw that article and was confused as well. I assumed if it was really the Broadway production we'd hear a lot more about the closing.
