broadway guy, Streisand has been saying since she left the OBC of FUNNY GIRL that she is "too lazy" (her words) to do 8 shows per week. She has said she'd rather make a movie and then sit in her bathtub while she simultaneously appears on movie screens all over the world.

In her occasional concert tours, she can play bigger houses, charge more money and work a less demanding schedule.

Jordan, I reread it at least once a year and each time I find I can't put it down. Yes, some of the Broadway economics are now dated, but Goldman's observations on the theater as entertainment and art still hold true.
