I still don't think Christie is now or will ever be ready for the president's office. He's a TERRIBLE governor. More than that (because apparently THAT doesn't matter) I just don't see his attitude playing with independents across the country. I get that the right loves him, but that (I hope!) isn't enough to get him into office.
^He's my governor and he's somewhat popular here based on polls and NJ is generally pretty blue so that may say something about his appeal to independents. I definitely don't think he'll win but he'll probably run in the primaries and might do well enough to stick around for a while.

I've seen those polls - I don't know who they're asking because of all the people I've talked politics with (which admittedly isn't much) I've only heard one person praise him. On the other side, most people HATE him more than I can remember any other governor I can remember.
Maybe it's wishful thinking - I just HOPE that half this country isn't so stupid as to buy into his crap.
One of these days, the Dems may come to their senses and put Brian Schweitzer on a national ticket. He would be an OUTSTANDING choice for VP. Kirsten Gillibrand would also be a terrific VP choice, as would Cory Booker. I think Martin O'Malley also has a future on the national stage.

I'd like to see Gavin Newsom on that list. Jesse Ventura despises Republicans & would more than likely be an Independent.Although I did hear him not long ago praise Al Franken.

2016 is Hilary's year- IF she wants it. And that is a big IF. If she announced I doubt any Dem would challenge her.
On the losing side would be....hmmmm. I think we need to see how this election plays out. My hope is that this Republican party will be destroyed and re-built by 2016. If they lose the WH and both houses of congress (which is increasingly likely) I think we will see either an EVEN MORE rabid tea bag faction or an appeal for some moderation- or both.
No good can possibly come from using this vast wasteland of error and deliberate deceit. You should get off of it and warn others away. You should make sure your children and grandchildren know what a corrupt and morally bankrupt institution it truly is.
Somebody would challenge Hillary, for sure. Obama proved she's not invincible, and she will be in her 60s. Democrats like young, fresh faces. A Hillary "lock" on the nomination is silly.
Republicans will again have another Klown Kar Karavan on 2016.
"Through The Sacrifice You Made, We Can't Believe The Price You Paid..For Love!"
Not just in her 60s, she will be one year shy of 70. Is there anybody who thinks the crazy faction of the Republicans won't pick up on that immediately and run with it for all it's worth?
Did you know that every day Mexican gays cross our borders and unplug our brain-dead ladies?
Who would challenge Hilary? She has built such incredible good will by serving as Obama's Secretary of State- I can't see any democrat opposing her.
And sure Republicans will attack her as too old. They will attack her for being a lesbian and not having any experience. They will attack her like crazy. So what.

It is hard to predict before this election is even over- ten years ago, it was routinely tossed about that there wouldn't be a Democratic president for thirty years or more- Karl Rove having been SO successful with his "Permanent majority" strategy.
