Do you the show will continue to make a million a week after Jeremy's departure?

Nope. It will probably make about 3,000 a week. He's such a big name and everyone knows him. That's why the show is doing so great because he is such a big star

I know. The Book of Mormon grosses went right into the crapper as soon as Andrew and Josh left.

I hear a closing notice for Wicked is in discussion, because people FINALLY got fed up not seeing Idina and Kristin.

It won't even skip a beat. I think Jordan is great in the part -- but the part is nothing astonishing that EVERYONE else that takes over will be just fine.

Disney has seen what happens to cult shows (n2n, Hair, Spring Awakening) when they do a huge casting change, an although Newsies is more of a smash than a cult, its fans are just as crazy. Disney will likly try to keep some key players (Steele and Keenen-Bolger) as long as they can an slowly change out the rest or at least try not to publicize them.

I know some pretty fanatical Newsies fans, and a lot of them are over Jeremy Jordan - so, him leaving isn't that much of a departure for the fan base. As others have mentioned, Ryan, Andrew, a few others have become pseudo fan favorites - and from what I gather Corey is on his way there, so cult-fan wise, things will be pretty much the same.

To the tourist set? Nothing will change - still Disney, still family friendly, still Newsies. Jeremy or no Jeremy.

They do a huge cast change when they have to, almost never because they want to. Most of the cast's contract expires at the same time: if they don't want to renew, they'll have to replace a big section, all at once.

This has family appeal, and like Lion King, THAT'S what will give it its longevity.

To be clear the producers of ONCE likly have to worry a ton more than Disney since Once is not as tourist friendly, but Disney shouldn't think Newsies cast is so interchangable.

Once won a Tony for Best Musical, while Kazee and Cristin are great - their replacements will not cause a blip on the radar. Yes, Kazee is a Tony winner, but I'm pretty sure people aren't going to stop seeing "2012 Tony Award winning Best Musical Once" once he's gone.

Also, like someone above said - they just recouped, so they have nothing to worry about.

Basically, Wicked - he saying that a Once cast change is more of a possible problem for the show than Newsies, because Newsies is more tourist friendly than Once.

..or something.. was there rainbows involved? ..I feel like there was rainbows.

Beside all those cute Japanese girls who love gay male dancers.
