So basically short version is I'm leaving for college on Monday and not seeing my mom for 4 months. She really wanted to see this and as a kid, she made me watch the film numerous times so it's a bit special. Unfortunately, I am a broke college student and like so many can't afford too much. I'd really love to buy these for her. What time do I need to get there? I live in Central NJ so it's a decent train ride in. And will I be able to purchase 2 tickets (one for me, one for her) with my college ID? Will Ricky not being in it cut down on the crowd? Thank you so so much for your help.
Yes they do have rush on Saturdays. That was only in the beginning of the run when they were selling out. I would imagine you could get there whenever, including half hour until curtain. Since Ricky is out, they have a lot of seats.
So do you guys think if I was there, in line, for 9:35/9:40ish I'd be okay? I know the matinee is Christina, not Elena Roger, and with Ricky out I'm hoping no one really wants to go to this show. I know my mother won't mind, and I honestly don't have the luxury of picking another day and time.
Tomorrow's matinee will be Elena, Christina is doing the evening show this week because Elena's vacation begins after the matinee.
If you can get in line around 9, that'd probably be better. I rushed earlier this week and while the line never got out of hand, it did get a little bit crowded come 9:30.
I thought I'd come back and report what happened so if anyone wants to look at this as reference, they have an answer
My mom wasn't feeling well in the morning, so we couldn't get in early. I ended up taking out enough money for the $75 TKTS tickets for us both because I figured my student rush chances were done. I got to the box office about 10:10 and was able to purchase 2 seats. Instead of being obstructed view, they were left orc, Row J seats 1,3. Awesome seats on the middle aile side. I don't know how much longer after that they had SR seats or how long the line was at 10 since it was basically cleared out by the time I was there.
The poster didn't get TKTS at the box office; sounds like they were ready to go there but took a chance first at the box office; TKTS is only available at the official booths. I heard of a girl getting front row center with the student rush and she didn't have to camp out. It's not obstructed view anymore.
Make a new friend in college and save a bundle! Doubt this show will last after September with sales like this, unless, of course, Ricky's version of "High Flying Adored" knocks Rihanna off the charts.
