Any guesses as to if they'll extend to the 2nd or not? I'll be in NYC the 24th and would love to catch it then but may to able to go earlier if they are indeed closing the 19th.
does anyone know how sales have been? If I don't get virtual tickets to ITW (highly likely that I won't) I think I'd like to snag a ticket to this. (with a discount)
Originally the run was selling out, but it has slowly dwindled. It is not a sell out, but they do sell probably 90% at least of the house every show. You shouldn't have a problem getting a ticket for it.
I was able to snag two seats at TKTS for Sunday Mat. Cash only for Dogfight at TKTS. The show was fantastic, one of my favorite new scores. I would get tickets ASAP if you haven't seen it incase there is no extension or transfer.
I saw it tonight, and I'm not really sure how I feel. I mean it wasn't "great" but it wasn't "awful." It was just sort of there. Mendez is the standout. She's great. I didn't think any of the guys really registered. I didn't see much of an emotional journey for the main guy. He was just always sort of reserved. I wanted to see him sort of laidback, but that never happened, and his big song was a bit of a letdown. He sounded great, but why must there be a riff at the end? It's the 1960s, yeah? Nobody was really riffing then. Just struck me as out of place. As did most of the score. I thought the score wasn't "masculine" enough for these guys. It was a little too Disney sounding for such a dark story.
