Republicans are even saying Mitt is committing political suicide by not releasing his records. I am hoping this does not go away until Election Day. You know as well as I that the media (other than Fox News) should have been more critical of Obama rather than just be cheerleaders for him.

The media should have done in depth investigations into:

his ties with Bill Ayers,
his association with Rev Wright,
how Michelle Obama actually got a high paying no-show job she wasn't qualified for and what she was supposed to do in that job
his drug use
his lies in his autobiography
exactly how he got into Columbia and who was supporting him

The list goes on and on

What I always find funny about this "he wasn't vetted!" meme is that Barack Obama has had hundreds of thousands of articles written about him. Maybe millions. It's not that he wasn't "vetted" it's that the reports didn't say what the right wing wanted them to say.

To pick one at random- Michelle Obama's "no show" job. I get over a MILLION hits by Googling "Michelle Obama Hospital job." A MILLION HITS. Obviously there is a cover-up here. It all grew out of a National Review piece that tossed a bunch of big numbers around- a $300K salary, Michelle Obama working 20 hours a week, Barack Obama running for president. Somehow that grew into "Michelle had a no-show job that paid $300K a year! And she wasn't even qualified for it!"

In fact, Michelle Obama (graduate of Princeton and Harvard) worked at Chicago's top law firm (among other jobs) before taking a job at University of Chicago in 1996 and was promoted repeatedly before landing a VP job at U of C Medical center in 2002. The idea that it was a "no show" job is beyond laughable- If you doubt me, suffice to say she landed the job YEARS before Obama was well-known as anything other than a handsome young lawyer and worked her way up the ladder. And when her husband ran for president, reduced her hours (and salary) to help with his campaign before leaving in 2007.

And if you are curious, pull up some of the MILLION stories on her- you will certainly find a few that parrot this absurd story she somehow got this job through the influence of her senator husband (who we all know had a time machine, so he could EASILY travel to 1996 and make them hire his wife!). Do the research.
