WOW! "Chicago" had a $198,000+ increase. I guess Ryoko Yonekura had quite a bit to do with this. I'm thinking that the Weisslers will ask her back at some point. Good luck to Bianca Marroquin as the newest Roxie and Brian O Brien who is covering the role of Billy Flynn till August 6th. Yay! from RC in Austin, Texas
that's some sad numbers for Fela! shouldn't have returned. 8 shows over $1 million, plus many other shows seeing a nice increase. and since when does Studio 54 have standing room?? Is it time for War Horse to close as well?? Would a move even help at this point??
Was Audra out for all or part of last week? I would have thought that the combination of her win along with the best revival Tony would have kept P&B in the 70% mark through most of the summer. Looks like I was wrong. Wonder what their nut is...
Looks like it's time for War Horse to gallop away and make room for a new production at the Vivian Beaumont.
The combination of Ricky being back and Elena being on vacation really helped Evita! Great for them. Overall, pretty good numbers! Nice bumps for Memphis and Sister Act as well. BoM's avg ticket price is over $187??? That is ridiculous.
I also wonder what PORGY's nut is (no dirty Norm Lewis jokes please.... not that nut)...
I am surprised they haven't picked up, but they haven't done ANY new marketing since the Tonys. Not sure why.... it really seems like they would use that to their advantage and do another big push.
Well, looks like my lack of enjoyment over Elena's performance did not hurt the Evita box office numbers. :) Glad to see it. As much as I disliked the show, shows closing never make me happy as it affects so many.
