Just curious, has anybody had any experience with invisalign they'd like to share? I only recently found out about it and it was recommended to me by my dentist to check it out.
I had no problems, and preferred it to the other alternatives offered to me to straighten my teeth. I had serious orthodontia as a child but into my forties my teeth decided to return home, and I started Invisalign before they got too far off line. The biggest problem is the "lisp" that you get when you first get them, but once your tongue and lips get used to them, there is not a lot of discomfort. They are fairly invisible although I did occasionally leave them out for any event where I wanted to be photographed.
I did Invisalign. I highly recommend it. My mom couldn't afford to get me braces when I was growing up and I had always been very self-conscious about my smile. My dentist talked to me about it everytime I went to get a cleaning because my cleanings would take so long because my teeth were crowded. I thought I couldn't afford it but we negotiated a good price and and a payment plan that included the $2000 that my dental insurance would contribute. I had it for 18 months (12 months was the initial plan and then I did a refinement that lasted 6 months). If you aren't pleased with the first result they will do refinement periods for you at no additional cost until you are happy.
Toward the end I got tired of having to brush and floss after ever meal or snack but it lead to improvement of my overall oral health. The results were fantastic. One of the best things I have ever done for myself.
If you're going to do it don't be shy about negotiating.
