I was searching the mp3 store on Amazon, and came across this deal of 111 classic rock 'n' roll songs for $2.99. The songs are by the original artists including the Everly Brothers, Buddy Holly, the Platters, Elvis, Conway Twitty, Fats Domino, Jerry Lee Lewis, Little Richard, and many many more. For example, some songs (definitely not listing them all!) are:
Bye, Bye Love Stand By Me Smoke Gets in Your Eyes That'll Be the Day Runaway Save the Last Dance for Me Only the Lonely All I have to do is Dream Donna Rock around the Clock Good Golly Miss Molly Great Balls of Fire Sweet Little Sixteen Tequila --
I grew up up with all this music and I have to say, from listening to the clips, it ALL sounds fake, esp. the Chuck Berry tunes, I believe this new poster may be shilling this "collection". Can't prove it, just doesn't sound like what I know and love. I think it's a rip off, even at 2.99.
Honestly, I think the songs were by the original artists. I haven't listened to them all, but the ones I have sound like them. Also, the reviews on Amazon report the songs include some later recordings, and live versions. However, if I am wrong, I'm very sorry to mislead...
Edit: I just listened to the recording of "True Love" (why song is included, I don't know), but I am convinced that it is in fact Bing Crosby singing, because I just compared the version on Amazon to one I had from "High Society." But I fully admit that I'm not familiar with all the artists, so make of it what you will. Just thought it was a good deal to share.
